Feeding Routine
When you bring a beagle to your home, they might be hungry and nibbling. The nutrition of the growing days is essential. To set the right path to dog nutrition, new dog owners must provide the beagle with the proper and safe food for bone and teeth growth and energy to play and learn.
0 - 6 weeks
Like humans, beagle cannot start off with solid foods. They need their mother's milk to get all those calories. Almost all breeding puppies are weaned off at the end of six weeks.
6 - 12 weeks
Beagles growing from the 6th week need a proper nutritional diet as required by a puppy's health needs. Feeding adult dog foods will not give your puppy the nutrition that may lead to stunted growth. With a frequency of four times feeding, puppies at this stage need soft food.
By the end of 9-10 weeks, large breed puppies can gradually shift to unmoistened dry foods, while small breed puppies can take up to 12 - 13 weeks.
3 - 6 Months
Most dog owners are instructed by their vets to decrease the feeding frequency to three times during this puppy growth period. The puppy at this stage should start losing their baby fat pudgy belly. Dog owners should continue to serve their puppies small puppy portions of food.
6 - 12 Months
Now is the right time for your dog's age to set the two-time food limit. Most veterinarian doctors recommend this period suitable for neutering or spaying your pets. This is a minor surgical procedure, but dogs might show a normal lack of energy and tiredness post-procedure.
After 1 year
By this time, your beagle is good to go. This age must decently train them and will need maintenance adult dog food twice a day and a regular water supply to stay energetic and fit.
Beagle Exercise Routine
The Beagle is a very active dog breed that requires a proper exercise routine to stay healthy. A beagle is not the breed that can be home all day doing nothing except eating and sleeping.
Beagles have a lot of energy, so they need a lot of exercise to use that energy. Depending on age, you must make a proper exercise routine for your Beagle.
An adult Beagle needs at least 60 to 90 minutes of daily exercise. The ideal exercise plan for an adult beagle can include 30 minutes of vigorous exercise, around 30 minutes of daily walking, and some mental stimulation.
Along with exercise, you can also play some fun games with your Beagle, such as tug of war, fetch, and other enjoyable activities. Puppies also have a lot of stamina, but overdoing physical activities can harm them as their bodies are still developing. That's why they shouldn't exercise much; 20 to 40 minutes of daily exercise would be enough for them.
